Laundry Issue
Spider waved an empty beer bottle through the air. “Just look!” He pointed at the television with his bottle. “Where are you going to put the laundry?”
“Clean or dirty?” asked Tad as he snagged the last piece of pizza from the box that was lying on the coffee table in front of him.
“Does it matter?”
“Of course it matters. See those little box thingies.” Tad motioned toward the screen. “You could put all your clothes in there.”
Spider’s mouth fell open. “I don’t think so. And what about my winter coat? Where does that go?”
Tad shrugged. He jumped up when he heard the familiar tapping at the door. “Hey, Trixie,” he said, giving her a kiss as he ushered her into the apartment he shared with his brother. “You’re just in time.”
“In time for what” Trixie looked at the two brothers, then at the empty pizza box and the beer bottles that were lined up around it.
“We can’t decide where the laundry goes,” answered Tad, sitting back down and pulling Trixie down with him.
“In the washer?” suggested Trixie.
“Nah, in between the washer,” said Spider.
“In between the washer? How much have you guys had to drink?” Trixie looked at the two brothers.
“This much.” Tad pinched his thumb and forefinger together. “But we can’t figure out where the laundry goes.”
“Especially the dirty laundry,” added Spider.
“What are you two talking about?” Confused, Trixie ran her fingers through her hair.
“That.” Tad pointed to the television.
Trixie looked at the tv, then rolled her eyes. “You guys are watching HGTV?”
Tad nodded. “Yep. And we can’t figure out where the dirty laundry goes.”
“Yeh. You can’t stuff your socks under the bed because there isn’t one. You can’t toss your dirty clothes in the corner of the bathroom, cause then they’re in the kitchen,” explained Spider.
Trixie shook her head. “I still don’t get it. What are you talking about?”
“The tiny house!” exclaimed the brothers in unison.
“The tiny house?” Trixie looked toward the tv.
“Yes. See, there’s a teeny house that people want to live in but we can’t figure out where they stash the dirty laundry.”
Trixie’s mouth fell open in disbelief. Thinking quickly, she came up with a solution. “I bet they have a secret place under the floor. They can just open the trap door and kick all the dirty laundry into it. “
Tad and Spider looked at each, grins spreading across their faces. “Yeh! A secret space under the floor.” After high-fiving each other, the two settled back in their respective chairs, content that the issue of dirty laundry had been solved.
