”Hurry up ,Trixie. The movie’s gonna start in 5 minutes.”
“Okay! Okay! Just let me grab some napkins.”
Trixie gathered what she needed from the concession stand and hurried to catch up with her boyfriend, Tad. They were both looking forward to a romantic evening spent alone in the cool, dark movie theater. Upon entering the shadowy theater, they grabbed some seats in the back row and settled into them. Trixie and Tad carefully set their drinks in the cup holders and placed the bucket of popcorn between them.
“I’m so glad you wanted to see this movie,” Trixie whispered to the man sitting beside her.
“A dark theater, just you and me in the back row. What more could a man want?”
Trixie grinned at her date as he lowered his lips to her neck and began running kisses across her collarbone. Trixie giggled as she pulled his head up and began kissing him on the mouth, teasing him with her tongue. As the two became more entwined with each other, they didn’t hear the announcements of coming attractions or upcoming events at the movie theater. They never noticed the lights dimming or the sound of people getting comfortable in their seats. Trixie was enjoying nibbling her boyfriend’s ear when she felt him tense up.
“Uh, Trixie. I think you should stop.” Trixie heard Tad whisper with a sense of urgency.
“Stop? Now why would I want to do that?” she asked in a low, sultry voice.
“Because we’re not alone.”
“Huh?” Trixie asked as her head snapped up. She looked around and grimaced. A grinning Mart and Diana sat beside Tad. Trixie looked at the seat next to her and found herself looking at a stern-faced Brian and an amused Honey. Rolling her eyes, Trixie flopped back in her seat and shoved a handful of popcorn in her mouth.
“Not alone? That’s the understatement of the year.” she said as the movie’s score burst forth through the surround sound.
“Oh, yeah,” agreed Tad as he searched for Trixie’s hand in the darkness.
