What to do! What to do!
Trixie’s mind was in a stew.
Dinner at the Wheeler Manor Estate,
The affair promptly begins at eight.
With all the Bob-whites there, the night should be great.
What to do! What to do!
Trixie’s mind was in a stew.
Should she wear pants? Or should it be a dress?
Look at all these curls, in a tangled mess.
“Why can’t I wear what I want to wear?
Why can’t I do that? Do I even dare?
Will I disappoint all if I show up the way I want to be?
Oh, I hate these affairs. Oh Gleeps! Oh Gee!"
What to do! What to do!
Trixie’s mind was in a stew.
A little bit later Trixie made the quick hike,
Up the hill to the Manor, wearing an outfit she didn’t like.
“A skirt on me,” she muttered in pain.
“And an uncomfortable top, I must be insane!"
Trixie knocked on the door and stood up straight,
“Right on time,” she thought. “I’m not even late!”
Honey answered the door and Trixie’s eyes opened wide.
She looked past her host at the others inside.
The Bob-whites were all dressed in jeans and in tees.
Trixie was over dressed? How could that be?
Honey shrugged at Trixie, “I thought you knew.
The dinner tonight is a barbecue.”
Trixie slapped her head and grabbed her blond hair.
“Sometimes,” she moaned. “Life just isn’t fair."
