Trixie sat back on the couch and propped her feet on the coffee table. Since her mom had Garden Club that afternoon, it was Trixie’s responsibility to watch Bobby. She had laid out a snack on the kitchen table and was waiting for him to come home from school. The hour that was required of her seemed like an eternity to Trixie. She hoped the time would go by quickly as she had plans to go riding with Honey when Moms got home. Trixie heard the back door slam and Bobby raced into the house.
"I put your snack on the table," yelled Trixie.
Bobby tore into the family room and stopped abruptly. Gasping, he shook his head at his sister.
"No time. We learned about Roswell and the aliens today in school. I am going to get to the bottom of it right now."
He flung his backpack on the floor and ran into the den, where he immediately turned on the computer. Trixie heard Bobby’s fingers pecking away on the keyboard and relaxed.
"Good! He should be well entertained for a while. This makes my afternoon so much easier." she snickered and turned her attention to her history homework.
When Trixie finished her homework assignment, she tossed the history book onto the coffee table. She cocked her head towards the den where the he sound of the whirring printer could be heard.
She glanced up at the clock over the fireplace and realized that Bobby had been on the computer for almost 45 minutes.
"Bobby, what are you doing?" Trixie called.
"Nothing," answered Bobby.
Trixie, concerned, called out again.
"Bobby, what are you doing?"
"Nothing, I'm done," he said as he came into the family room. In his hands, he held a thick stack of papers.
"What did you do?" Trixie asked suspiciously.
"Nothing," Bobby replied.
Trixie glared at him, her arms folded across her chest.
"Okay, I was just trying to find out about Roswell, New Mexico and the aliens that crashed there." Bobby explained. "I didn’t do anything wrong."
Trixie held out her hand toward the stack of papers. "Let me see what you have, Bobby."
Bobby reluctantly surrendered the pile he held tightly to his chest.
Trixie’s eyes widened when she saw "NATO SPY SECRETS" across the top of the papers.
"Oh Bobby, what have you done?" wailed Trixie.
