Bobby's Birthday

Trixie stumbled in the back door of Crabapple Farm and dropped into the nearest chair.

"I am never doing that again, no matter how much he begs," announced Trixie.

Moms came over and looked down at her frazzled daughter.

"Was it really that bad, Trixie?" she asked. "After all, you only had to take your brother and both of the Lynch twins bowling for Bobby’s birthday."

"Oh, more than bad. I would rather wear a dress every single day than do that again,"

"What made it so bad?" Moms asked, as she began icing Bobby’s birthday cake.

"Well, first they fought over where they were going to sit in the van. Bobby refused to get into the van unless he could sit where he wanted to sit, since he was the 'birthday boy'. It took them 20 minutes to pick their seats. Then they fought over what music they wanted to listen to on the radio. When we got to the bowling alley, the girls didn’t want to wear the bowling shoes, so they pouted and refused to participate. When I finally got them to their lane, they fought over who was going to keep score and the order in which they were going to bowl. Then they all wanted to use the same ball and argued over that. They finally started a game but they kept bowling gutter balls. That made them mad so they didn’t want to finish the game. I got them a pizza and some drinks. But they spilled the drinks and dropped the pizza on the bowling lane, even though I told them they couldn’t have food with them when they bowled, When they were finally done bowling, they hid Terry’s street shoes and refused to tell him where they were. When he did find them, Larry grabbed one of them and he and Bobby played Keep Away with it. They were throwing Terry’s shoe all over the place, even down one of the bowling lanes. Honestly Moms, I bet the next time we go into that bowling alley, there will be pictures of all five of them on the wall, with a sign underneath that says, "If you see any of these persons...RUN!"

Moms kissed Trixie on the top of her head and smoothed her curls.

"I appreciate what you did today, Trixie. And just think how happy you made your brother."

Trixie rolled her eyes. She was about to go on, when the door to the kitchen banged open and Bobby entered the room.

"Hey, Trix, since it’s my birthday, can you take me and Larry and Terry to the video game store? " he asked, an angelic expression gracing his face.

"No," Trixie said

Mart, overhearing Bobby's request, came into the kitchen

"Bobby, I’ll grant you your birthday petition, unlike some siblings," Mart said smugly.

"Grant away ,oh naive brother," smirked Trixie as she left the room.
