Honey anxiously paced the veranda of the Manor House, waiting for her friends, Trixie and Diana, to arrive. Too much time had passed since the three had been able to spend an entire day together. Today, they had decided, was the day they would correct that. Honey heard Diana’s car as it zoomed up the steep driveway. Parking it near the garage, Diana got out and joined Honey in the wait. Suddenly, they both saw the bobbing, blond head of their best friend as she made her way up the hill.
“Trixie!” they called out excitedly.
“Let me look at you,” said Honey to Trixie as she held herself away from her bubbly friend.
Honey’s excited face drank in the sight of her best friend, one whom she had neglected for the past several years while the two went to different colleges. Honey’s bright face became slightly puzzled. “Trixie, you've really changed,” she said. “Look at you. You are toned up and incredibly fit, your hair is longer, and you have a peaceful and calm aura about you.”
“Honey,” replied Trixie, as she blushed. “you’re just crazy.”
“No, she’s not,” chimed in Diana. “Girl, you look fabulous.”
“Enough you two,” ordered a thoroughly embarrassed Trixie.
“Seriously, what have you been doing?” demanded Honey.
Trixie looked puzzled for a moment. “Nothing has changed that much. I go to school, I go to work and I play soccer with Tad.”
Honey and Diana looked at each other. “Soccer with Tad?” they asked in unison.
“Yeh, we have a co-ed team. And on the days we don’t play soccer, we either run or go to the community center to work out. Tad’s an assistant manager there and he just got me into this really great yoga class, which is doing wonders for my concentration and focus.”
“Yoga?” echoed Diana and Honey as their eyes widened.
“And your hair,” commented Diana as she ran her fingers through the soft curls.
“Oh yeh, that.” replied Trixie. “Do you remember Stacie Andrews from high school? She opened her own salon in town and I let her practice cutting and highlighting on me when she was first starting out. I guess I got used to it,” she shrugged.
“You get your hair done now?” gasped Honey.
Diana and Honey stood staring at Trixie, their mouths agape.
“What?” demanded a perplexed Trixie.
“You are stunning. I can’t believe the transformation in you. Jim won’t believe it either,”” said Honey.
Trixie grimaced slightly. “Oh, yeah, about Jim. I’m dating Tad now, Honey.”
Diana glanced at Honey’s face and saw the shocked look. “Oh girl,” she exclaimed. “This isn’t a transformation. This is an alien abduction!
